Comments about this hole| mickey - Feb 4th, 2006 - 09:34:08 pm | From the official site: Not many will think that the opening hole at Olde Atlanta is too easy. This 444-yarder is the longest par 4 on the course and is the No. 1 handicap hole.
A long drive up the right side will afford the best angle into this green, which by its shape, is more receptive to a draw. An elevated tee box requires a strong drive over a ravine to a fairway that slopes uphill and slightly doglegs left. Water comes into play on this hole only for those players experiencing first-tee jitters and who might top their ball into the creek crossing the course between the white and red tees. A pair of fairway bunkers may come into play off the tee only for long hitters. The undulating, two-tiered green is protected by a bunker on the front left side. |
